The National Mining Association (NMA), a DC based trade association, is seeking an individual with a thorough knowledge of the federal legislative process, the ability to write and clearly communicate through concise and persuasive arguments and frequent written work products, a capacity to think strategically for long-term planning and adapt long-term plans to accommodate changing circumstances and factors while also able to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with often immediate time demands. Specific Responsibilities Manage and advance legislative and congressional priorities of importance to the members of the NMA Development and implementation of legislative strategy Managing NMA membership engagement and expectations Building consensus through coalitions of Members of Congress, involvement and support from Congressional Committees, Congressional leadership offices, and external organizations and trade associations Create and maintain positive relationships with Members of Congress, staff, and key Congressional Committees to advocate for and advance NMA's legislative priorities in collaboration with fellow government affairs department members Communicate the industry's position to Congressional leaders, members, and staff and external potential coalition partners PandoLogic.
