Summary

Positions in the Office of Strategic Intell & Info, Internet Investigations Center, Operational Intell Division in Washington, D.C.

Responsible for the development & effective use of Open Source Intelligence tools, methodologies, techniques & procedures w/ultimate goal of producing products that assists & maximize the time of law enforcement personnel. Performs complex cyber threat analysis on domestic & international terrorism activity related to explosives, and other improvised threats.

Responsibilities

  • Performs the most complex law enforcement intelligence operations pertaining to illegal national and international internet based criminal activity related to firearms, as well as explosives, arson, other criminal activity, and law enforcement intelligence operations
  • Collects, evaluates, analyzes, and extracts information from various Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) sources, sometimes involving raw intelligence, and compiles it into useful, finished analytical products, reports, and correspondence.
  • Develops complex reports pertaining to firearms and internet-based sources of firearms used in crimes, national and international firearms activity trafficking and crimes with firearms in various law enforcement jurisdictions
  • Provides information and advice on significant and extremely critical OSINT tools and methodologies intelligence trends, developments, and procedures.

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progresses.

MOBILITY PLAN : New employees hired pursuant to this vacancy announcement must sign a mobility agreement. Qualifications

To qualify for the GS-13 level candidates must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12).

Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Specialized experience includes:
  • Experience in conducting comprehensive surveys of criminal activity and conspiracies
  • Collecting, analyzing, evaluating, and developing intelligence reports and analytical products used in criminal investigations for grand juries and criminal trials
  • Analyzing information from complex criminal conspiracies and developing collection databases
  • Developing conclusions and projected estimates of anticipated criminal activity

The GS-13 Step 1 salary range starts at $102,663 per year. If you are a new federal (civil service) employee, your starting salary will be set at the Step 1 for this position.
