Transforming All-Source Analysis with Location-Based Object Services (TALOS) provides Information Technology (IT)-based efforts required to support Department of Defense (DoD) and the Intelligence Community (IC) for technology and concept development. DoD s intelligence mission is to provide accurate, relevant, and timely data and intelligence to tactical, operational, and strategic decision makers across the Combatant Commands, nuclear, conventional, and Special Operations Forces. Decision superiority is the competitive advantage, enabled by an ongoing situational awareness that allows commanders and their forces to make informed decisions and implement them as fast and effectively as the situation warrants. The purpose of this effort is to advance the state of the art in Big Data, data analysis, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and advanced analytics to enhance the DoD s and the IC s information processes and technical architectures. Job Requirements: Primary Responsibilities: Database engineer supporting MARS Scrum Team Performs database engineering and management activities associated with designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing Big Data analytic systems for MARS using an Agile DevSecOps model Architects, designs, and implements updates and enhancements to the MARS Multi-INT data repositories and indexes to support data ingest, enrichment, analysis, visualization, and dissemination Performs research and development and provides technical support to identify and integrate new and emerging technologies into the MARS data environment Designs and implements storage and indexing strategies to provide efficient storage and retrieval to support visualizations such as graph-based and geospatial indices Supports design and development of data access APIs that allow enterprise access (as appropriate) to MARS data Develops or provides input to engineering artifacts associated with the MARS data repositories including Database Design Documents, Release Plans, Requirements Traceability Matrices, and Sprint Summary Reports Required Qualifications: Active TS/SCI Polygraph Clearance Education: Bachelors Degree Experience: 5+ years database engineering and management; designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing Big Data analytic systems Tools/Skills: Agile, AWS, RDBMS technology, Elasticsearch and/or SOLR, NoSQL technology (Hadoop and/or EMR)
