The Network Engineer is responsible for activities related to the analysis, design, installation, configuration, maintenance, security, and repair of the enterprise-wide LAN, WAN, wireless, and network security infrastructure. The Network Engineer will maintain network availability, reliability, and performance that conform to business requirements. The Network Engineer also provides direction, information, and recommendations to implement solutions based on business requirements. The position requires technical knowledge and experience in monitoring, security, and maintenance of an enterprise network environment. What you will be doing: Designing, configuring, setting up, and maintaining complex switching environments to meet business requirements or enhance performance Configuring, setting up, and maintaining Cisco SDWAN technologies, firewalls, routers and switches for access to critical business applications Designing, configuring, and setting up complex wireless network to support open or secured access Analyzing company and user needs and recommending appropriate solutions to meet requirements or enhance performance while maintaining company and department standards Managing assigned projects for all network and security infrastructure changes to the environment Assisting with the design, implementation, and management of disaster recovery infrastructure, policies and procedures, and business continuity plans Resolving network system and application performance issues with the use of packet capture and protocol analysis Communicating and problem-solving daily with teammates, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders, often in combination with travel Other skills related to building a career in network engineering! Job Requirements: The education and experience we're looking for: Bachelor s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent technical or professional experience related to the design, installation, and maintenance of local and wide area networks required Minimum ten (10) years experience as a full-time network engineer in a mid-sized complex environment consisting of Cisco LAN/WAN hardware Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or greater required What skills you should have: Expertise in designing, planning, implementing, and troubleshooting complex network topologies including data, voice, security, video, and wireless networks Expert knowledge of a variety of network management tools and test equipment Expertise in routing protocols including BGP, IGRP, EIGRP, and OSPF Expertise in TCP/IP, MPLS, VLANs, Trunks, and Ether Channel Extensive knowledge of Cisco firewalls, routers, and switches Must possess strong analytical skills and an ability to identify complex network issues Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, customer service, and communication skills and an ability to interact effectively with a wide range of users of varying levels of technological expertise Ability to serve as a technical mentor to others and guide engineers and technicians in resolving complex problems Must have documentable knowledge of local and wide area networks; of data communications, network planning, and analysis. Any technical certifications and/or technical training in local and wide area networks, and/or communications highly desirable Demonstrated experience implementing security policies and procedures Must work well within a deadline-driven environment Experience with VoIP network solutions VMware ESXi experience is a plus Windows Server 2016/19 experience is a plus. This position requires travel of up to 25%. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
