As the Controller you will be responsible for the accounting operations of Company and its subsidiaries including the production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls, all designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. You will also assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, preparation and review of corporate tax returns and completion of the annual external audit. The Controller is also responsible for managing the daily operations of Company' Accounting department, supervising a team of eight.Responsibilities: Bring industry best practices to elevate the accounting function through process improvement initiativesSupervise and assist in the month end closing and financial reporting process to continually drive down time-to-close while maintaining accuracy of reportingProduce KPIs and MD&A to accompany monthly financial report including analysis of results, variances and trendsIdentify and execute on cost reduction opportunitiesWork with department leaders to lead them through monthly review of department financials and forecastingAssist with the annual budget and monthly forecast processesLead the annual external auditCoordinate the filing of federal and state income tax returnsReview and approve invoices and expense reportsManage cash balances and associated check and wiring activitiesStrategically manage collections function and report on A/R agingResearch accounting issues for compliance with US GAAPDiligence and integrate acquisitions, which may require converting target financial reporting to US GAAPOptimize financial system configurations to automate accounting processes and create a highly scalable accounting functionDocument and maintain SOPs and process narratives to ensure business continuity and audit documentationAssist in special projects and reporting requests as necessaryQualifications:Required (no stretch):Active CPA license4-6 years of experience in accounting at for-profit corporationBig Four public accounting experienceExperience managing GL at company with >$75M revenue and SaaS productsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsStrong command of Microsoft ExcelThis experience is considered a plus:comNetSuiteM&A and related integrationImplementing new accounting systems and modulesCompetencies and skills the position will require:Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to self-direct and work through ambiguity in a fast-paced environmentStructured thinking, detail orientation, highly organizedAbility to multi-task and collaborate with multiple constituents across the organizationExcellent verbal and written communicationAdaptability and willingness to change direction based on the needs of a high growth businessExtreme ownership and commitment to getting deliverables done accurately and on-time (zero-defect orientation)Team player; ability to grow and motivate team members to create a high-performance organization
