Responsibilities Projected to commence in Spring 2021 Project Oversight Controller will function at the Senior Consultant level within Guidehouse. Project Oversight Controller are second level non-management consultants that will have responsibility for client management, solution implementation and generation of project results. You will own project workstreams and interact with the client daily to ensure engagement success. This includes supporting day-to-day operational meetings with client sponsors and consulting leaders. Project Oversight Controller are expected to prepare and communicate well-organized, effective reports and presentations to client and internal executives. You will lead, coach and mentor consultants and ensure quality deliverables. Responsibilities include: * Perform project-level financial management and expense analysis * Prepare detailed financial program management reviews and provide the status of key performance metrics * Provide analysis and recommendations based on the results of financial program management reviews * Setting up, monitoring, and controlling projects using Earned Value Management (EVM) * Develop initial performance baseline integrating scope, schedule and budget * Update project status * Monitor and analyze actuals costs for assigned projects (pulling data from SAP source) * Identify, analyze and provide explanations for variances * Developing standard EVM reporting formats * Maintain, review, and revise the baseline consistent with established change control * Manage financials for projects, updating estimates based on actuals and forecasting * Create and maintain, resource-loaded project schedules and various work type templates in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project * Proactively identify schedule risks/issues and assess impacts * Support Project Managers for schedule and status updates, including resource and cost forecasting, project baseline updates, and various reporting We encourage career development and hiring for the long term. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering & Management, Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical) or any technical discipline * 3-5 years Financial or Scheduling Controls experience in the any of the follow industries: aerospace, defense, construction, oil & gas or utilities * Demonstrated working experienced at monitoring and controlling projects using Earned Value Management (EVM) * Financial or Scheduling controls experience * Financial or Scheduling experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel * Experience with applying formulas and functions to calculations and analysis in Microsoft Excel * Ability to think analytically and conduct trend analysis * Ability to accomplish financial forecasts based on bottom-up and top down analysis * Ability to discuss and resolve administrative and financial issues effectively in a team environment and multi-task and problem-solve in a fast-paced, changing environment * Ability to travel to client site and job locations as needed Preferred Qualifications In addition to the above qualifications: * Local Indiana resident * Master's degree or MBA * 3+ years Project Management or Project Engineering experience * Strong experience with Utility Transmissions & Distributions construction project management * Systems knowledge of PowerPlan, WMIS, Stakeout for utilities construction planning and development * Experience using MS Project and Primavera P6 * Working knowledge and experience using SAP financials Additional Requirements * The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.
