Description:Our client is looking for a Sr. Network Engineer to join their team of 4. (2 Network Security Engineers and 2 Routing & Switching Engineers). They are looking for a strong network engineer who has worked within an enterprise data center environment with Cisco network hardware and appliances: They should have experience with Cisco 6500 series, 29/35/3800 series and 4500 series switches. If this person has experience deploying or supporting wireless technologies and firewalls Cisco ASA's (setting up both site-to-site and remote access VPNs). Also experience with Nexus switches would be a huge plus since they have Nexus 2k/5k/7k switches in their environment. This person will be working remote from home but will be traveling 1-2 days/week to either AAMC or Doctors for the refresh project work. Things could change in the future with the work from home depending on the impacts of COVID-19. AAMC just chose TierPoint's newest data center in BWI Technology Park for colocation and disaster recovery services. AAMC converted their WAN to Cisco ACI. This person should be knowledgeable with Cisco ACI, if they don't have experience setting it up within a data center. Cisco ACI is the solution that emerged from Cisco, following its acquisition of Insieme, which is a company they funded for more than two years. ACI is seen by many as Cisco's software-defined networking (SDN) offering for data center and cloud networks.Skills need to do the job* ASA for site to site VPN and Access (not so much security reasons)o Must be strong with building VPN connections* Experience with 3750,3860,9400,9500 catalyst switches* Nexus OS and switches (very little presence)* ACI would be a huge plus* This person will work closely with their Cisco partners as well as internal operations and helpdesk teamsProjects and environment at Luminis Health* Finishing up integration with Doctors Community Hospital* Hardware refresh at Doctors is wrapping up; 3 more closets left to get done* Early 2021o Refresh of the main hospital Catalyst 9k switches Strong with campus networks- core distribution layer and configuration (Layer 2/3) Heading towards micro segmentation (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF) High Level Design discussion between Juan, Dave, and Cisco reps (purchase equipment)* This person will handle the implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting support. * Utilize Plan B Technologies to assist with some of the refresh work Eventually doing a wireless refresh Cisco Meraki equipment at the ambulatory sites 3750's, 3850's, 9k series Nexus IOS XE Operation Systemo Design discussion how to do the refresho Flat Layer 2 network; want to move it to Layer 3* Looking at implementing Cisco DNA Center - next iteration of Prime infrastructure* SolarWinds for network monitoring* Looking at how to best utilize Cisco ACI to its fully capacity This person should be open to 5-10% travel to their Tierpoint data center in Linthicum, MD as well as Doctors Community Hospital in Lanham, MD Position Objective:Extensive experience with Cisco based networking infrastructures and possess an advance knowledge of Cisco Switches, Routers, Firewalls and enhanced protocols. Additionally a strong knowledge of Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure ACI software defined networking solution. Performs network management, design, support, and maintenance in a multi-site enterprise class environment. Plans day-to-day administration and support of WANs, LANs, VPNs, DMZs, Wireless networks, and software required to support Cisco networks. This includes performance monitoring, intrusion detection, firewall systems and security best practices to interface public and private networks, capacity planning for future growth, and upkeep of configuration documentation. Contributes to network-engineering projects and works closely with other IT engineering groups to ensure compliance with organizations goals and objectives of having an innovative, redundant infrastructure allowing for business continuance and disaster recovery. Responds to trouble tickets and service request calls. Providing assistance and takes appropriate action; utilizing a variety of tools. 4. Provides third tier network support in problem escalation process while mentoring and educating tiers one and two. 5. Communicates with users in a timely manner to ensure problem resolution and take proactive measures to prevent recurrence. 6. Installs and configures all necessary network devices to support the organizations business continuity/disaster recovery plan. 7. Enters and tracks all trouble tickets and project work changes into trouble tracking application or project management application. 8. Participates in long and short term technology planning and provides task management and technical support for special projects. 9. Provides assistance with research and evaluation of proposed hardware and software modifications and upgrades. 10. Attends classes, seminars, conferences and reviews professional literature to enhance knowledge of trends and developments related to WAN and LAN technologies.Educational/Experience Requirements:* A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related degree preferred, or a combination of education, training, and work experience * Minimum of 5 years direct technical network experience in an enterprise class network.* Must have expert knowledge of Cisco based networking infrastructures and possess an advance knowledge of Cisco Switches, Routers, Firewalls and enhanced routing protocols. * Strong understanding of implementing and troubleshooting various routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP) in a multi-layer switched/routed environment. * Knowledge of Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure ACI, Wireless networks and VoIP with ability to plan and implement multiple layers of security to support wireless infrastructure. * Excellent Communication Skills (oral and written) and Customer Service Skills. * Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks. Ability to work individually or as a member of a team. Ability to work under pressure.Required License/Certifications:* Cisco CCNA (Preferred)* Cisco CCNP (Preferred)Additional responsibilities and projects* Architect, implement, and maintain high availability Cisco Networks in multiple data-centers that facilitate the care of patients, long term storage patient records and fire and security systems* Support Cisco Networks at the main campus and branch offices* Responsible for maintenance and repair of multiple zero-downtime Cisco Data Center infrastructure* Architect, implement, and maintain small SOHO Cisco Networks for satellite offices* Assist in supporting the wireless network infrastructure* Re-design of their Data Center and access layer to prepare for current applications and future growth campus wide.
