3TECH Staffing, Inc. seeks candidates for an Asphalt Superintendent to join our Baltimore, Md. based-construction company client's asphalt/paving crew. The Asphalt Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the entire construction process of an Asphalt job from preconstruction thru final punch list. The main role is to coordinate schedules and tasks with the Asphalt Foreman and project manpower and crew requirements for successful, timely and on budget completion. The Superintendent will work directly with the Project Manager to oversee production and installation of multiple ongoing projects daily. Responsibilities:Understands their responsibilities as a Superintendent Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all staff to exchange information and gather ideas Accurately completes daily timesheets, forms and other paperwork and submits on time; Takes notes in HJ daily diary Ensures policies, rules and regulations are adhered to at all times. Ensures problems in personal relationships with other personnel do not impair work relationship Trains and provides feedback to Foreman and crew Maintains schedules and sets quality standards Meets commitments to other people Accepts guidance from Project Manager and requests direction as needed Is accountable for his/her actions; holds others accountable Attends pre-bid walks, pre-construction meetings, meetings with subs to clarify project requirements Supervise plans, specs, bids and schedules. Work with PM to set schedules and logistics plans Oversee and coordinate outside teams including architects, engineers, inspectors, contractors Conduct site visits to inspect and monitor progress of subs; ensure that subcontractor deadlines are met Recognize problems on the job and advises PM; makes recommendations for solutions Coordinates daily needs OTJ, including ordering of materials, trucks and equipment Monitor and follow-up on requests for information, change orders, extra work requests and extra time requests. Analyze claims, requests and schedules and provide recommendations and feedback Forward thinking. Plans ahead to limit disruption to productivity Acts as subject matter expert for the trade Ensures toolbox is conducted correctly Wears full PPE as required and ensures PPE compliance with staff Reports in a timely manner any incidents, injuries, illnesses, other events to Safety Manager Qualifications:Minimum 7-10 years on Paving Crew and 5+ years of foreman experience High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred Proven work experience as an Equipment Operator and Laborer Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints Ability to work weekends, public holidays and at night. Ability to travel to wherever the job is needed. Ability to work overtime when required. Ability to work in variety of weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain and dusty environments. In depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and safety guidelines. Has a sense of urgency to meet deadlines Ability to communicate with with supervisors, co-workers, contractors and the general public in a courteous, professional manner at all times.
