This innovative data & analytics function will drive advanced analytics and actionable insights to help drive Hilton's performance.What will I be doing?As the Lead BI Developer, you will empower the business to both answer questions and generate findings through dynamic, self-service applications. Through targeted discovery, you will capture the customer use cases, mine data, architect data models, and build the environment for Hilton data domains!The Developer will lead the investigation and design of Enterprise data domains to build a self-service reporting environment for various business units. You will be responsible for the design and architecture of the data model and solutions built on it, then iterate with the business on the development of dynamic reporting applications. As the service grows you will support the growth and improvement of these solutions to continue moving the business toward self-service in reporting, investigation and decision making.More specifically, you will:* Lead the execution of a Business Intelligence strategy within a business domain through understanding business requirements and partnering with IT to implement dashboards* Coordinate the design, build, and test for an enterprise-wide dashboard suite* Mobilize, align, and manage BI Developer Support teams, including resource prioritization and capacity management* Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to optimize data model & architecture to reduce data storage duplication, optimize ETL processes, and query performance* Support BI strategy and tool management; collaborate with functional teams* Review, approve, and/or deny functional and technical designs for dashboards* Serve as the BI authority to the business by fielding BI related questions and conducting BI demos during training and innovation sessions and meet with partners to understand business requirements, build functional and technical designs, and document reporting artifacts* Design, develop, test, and support the deployment of dashboard demand to the Analytics Organization* Develop a BI semantic layer for business consumptionWhat are we looking for?The success in this role will demonstrate itself through the following attributes and skills:* Strong combination of design, architecture, and data channeling skills, especially data modeling for reporting/data warehousing on a RedShift database platform* Outstanding communication to bridge the gap between business, analytics and technology* Presenting and maintaining well detailed guidance around design, architecture patterns and development standards, ensuring they are actively socialized across the BI Development community* Adhering to project plans and finding opportunities to shorten the development timeline and proposing improvements ahead of business ask* Passion for problem solving, data exploration, data visualization, and user experience* Critical thinking with both quantitative and qualitative analytics skills* Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work well under pressure* Leadership, dedication, flexibility, teamwork, and integrityTo fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:* Five (5) years of Business Analytics, Intelligence experience and working in a data engineering and architecture functional group* Five (5) years of data analytics, reporting and interpretation experience supporting an enterprise across multiple business functions* Three (3) years of Project Management experience* Two (2) years of experience leading teams and individuals* Experience developing data visualizations and performing data analysis* Deep experience with dashboard design and development empowered by BI tools (including Tableau, MicroStrategy, and/or Qlik) and performing data analysis* Knowledgeable of data modeling, ETL, statistics, databases, servers and agile delivery* Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; advanced presentation skillsIt would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:* BA/BS Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or related field of study* In-depth knowledge in at least one (1) information management field (data quality, master data management, meta-data management, data operations, BI/Data WH/Data Lake, and data architecture)What is it like working for Hilton?Hilton is the world's leading global hospitality company, spanning the lodging sector from luxurious full-service hotels and resorts to extended-stay suites and mid-priced hotels.
