Summary: The Senior CMM Inspector will perform tests, gauging, and instrument inspections of complex materials, tools, goods in process, and finished goods with minimal supervision. The Senior Inspector will also act as the company liaison to various industrial suppliers and customer representatives. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Performs audits, tests, and inspections of complex materials, goods in process, or finished goods assuring quality first by determining compliance to drawings, procedures, and specifications (receiving through final system assembly) Develops and/or uses a variety of complex test and inspection set-ups utilizing mechanical and/or electrical test measurement equipment. Utilizes and monitors internal and external suppliers through the use of process controls. Assists in development of and interprets a variety of semi-complex inspection plans, tests and procedures and recommends changes to procedures, processes, and drawings to improve efficiency and/or quality of the product. Requires interpretation of inspection plans, tests and procedures. Applies established inspection procedures and uses simple inspection/testing tools / instruments of a go/no go nature. Documents and retains required quality control test/inspection records and results. Investigates defective material with manufacturing and/or suppliers and determines error identification and implements positive corrective action. Identifies and documents nonconforming material in accordance with applicable procedures. Assists and trains others in assuring the proper test, measurement, and procedural operations. Ensure adherences to policies & procedures, checks technical work of other inspectors & performs material review functions; also practices Total Quality principles and concepts. Support customer expedited requests and provide direct service support for internal customers Job Requirements: Qualifications / Experience / Requirements: 3-5+ years of relevant inspection / quality experience with a High School diploma or equivalent Experience with / basic knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) capabilities Prior knowledge of GD&T, as well as critical key features on drawings Broad knowledge of manufacturing and quality assurance processes / procedures, of military and commercial quality specifications, of Statistical Process Control and of electrical and/or mechanical inspection. Knowledge of workmanship standards, packaging / preservation requirements and computers / computer applications. Ability to operate semi-complex mechanical inspection equipment. Ability to develop and/or use semi-complex inspection set-ups. Ability to read, analyze and interpret detailed specifications, drawings, procedures, schematics and GD&T. Ability to apply logical thinking in identifying error cause and to seek effective solutions. Ability to effectively team with others while employing Team / Company principles. Ability to interpret complex inspection plans, tests and procedures. Basic algebraic skills. Able to independently determine approaches to solutions with only general direction Ability to work with outside suppliers as well as internal customers Experience with the Microsoft suite of products; Word, Excel, Explorer, etc. Results-driven with focus on delivering customer satisfaction Ability to demonstrate initiative and work independently Strong communication skills This position does require the ability to obtain a Security Clearance at time of direct hire conversion.
