Your Role and Responsibilities The Network Engineer is responsible for supporting technology assessments, design, infrastructure build, configuration, test and documentation of all aspected of new deployments and technical refresh of existing environments. Experience with the following is highly desired: Solid backgound in mainframe and distributed network disciplines, with subject matter expertise in one or more of these areas. Understanding of network infrastructure monitoring and management tools eg Tivoli, Solarwinds, IBM Appscan, QRadar, ServiceNow, TrendMicro, Tenable Security Center, etc. Experience configuring and managing network infrastructure between a variety of server platforms, including hardware interfaces and adapters. Understanding of capacity and performance management techniques. Level 3 troubleshooting and problem management skills supporting escalations from operations. This role may require off hours support and other duties as assigned. Required Technical and Professional Expertise Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance. 5+ years experience supporting design and implementation of network infrastructure including LAN/WAN/SAN, firewalls/security, and software. 3+ years experience with Cisco and Checkpoint firewalls, cisco routers and switches, Arista switches, and VMware NSX, VXLAN and BGP. 3+ years experience supporting Mainframe network environment and hardware. Exposed to design and implementation of enterprise storage infrastructure. Ability to create formal documentation for delivery to operations, and maintenance staff. Excellent teamwork skills. Ability to communicate (both orally and written) effectively to various audiences. Security +, Computing Environment Certification within six months. Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise Active Public Trust security clearance. 2+ years experience network administration of zOS and zVM, zLinux. 2+ years experience implementing IT security solutions, firewalls and Mainframe security tools (zSecure, Top Secret, RACF, ACF2). Experience working with Federal government clients is highly desired.
