The HR Manager position is a stand alone position for a medium size company based in Tysons Corner. The ideal HR Manager we seek must be coming from the Security/Information Technology Sector, specifically with experience in commercial companies; not just federal space experience. The ideal candidate must have hands on experience with full-cycle recruiting efforts and payroll processing for a small - medium size business. The HR Manager we seek will be working remote 100% until early 2021 when the office reopens, and then will be required to be in office 5 days a week when appropriate. The day to day responsibilities include:* Oversees day-to-day HR activities and acts as primary point of contact for HR issues and concerns.* Responds to routine inquiries from employees and managers to include, but not limited to: benefits, payroll, and questions regarding human resources policies and procedures.* Works with the Executive Team to continually improve an overall talent management strategy including workforce planning; recruiting; hiring; training and development; performance review and improvement; and succession planning.* Assesses trends, and recommends compensation structures, incentive plans, benefits programs, and awards for performance excellence.* Collaborates with the Executive Team to develop a culture that inspires and fosters a high performance and high employee engagement and retention.* Partners with management to provide guidance on sensitive employee matters, coaching and disciplinary processes, and best practices related to performance management.* Documents employee grievances. Counsels employees and supervisors, and facilitates conflict resolution.* Ensures compliance with all HR policies. Reviews and recommends changes to company policies, procedures and practices to implement industry best practices.* Oversees compliance with local, state and federal employment laws and regulatory compliance.* Oversees employee safety, welfare, wellness and health.* Processes accurate semi-monthly payroll, preparing reports, reviewing payroll account reconciliations, and troubleshooting issues.* Manages key benefit programs, and coordinates annual renewal with brokers.* Communicates and educates employees on benefit enrollment, changes, renewals, and terminations.* Conducts day-to-day administration, processes applications, and ensures completion of requirements.* Coordinates recruitment efforts for all positions, working with hiring managers to create job descriptions, writes and places ads, screens, interviews, checks references and recommends qualified candidates.* Facilitates and tracks completion of on-boarding paperwork, benefit election forms and necessary forms/documentation required for payroll.
