Responsibilities: The Data Center Technician is responsible for the functional physical operation of the data center from day to day; Find, correlate, prevent and own complex problems from incident to resolution, implementing solutions to keep the business moving while driving root cause analysis to ensure problems do not resurface; Perform installation and ensure effective organization and maintainability of all cabling as per industry practices; Use and build-out existing and future tools for managing Inovalon's infrastructure; Perform scheduled and ad hoc system maintenance on Inovalon infrastructure; Perform preventative maintenance on data center according to schedule and ensure effective working of mechanical building systems; Ensure data center assets possess RFID or internal tag tracking information. Remediate where applicable; Coordinate 3rd party support service requests to resolution.; Collect and manage documentation relevant to receipt and shipping of all equipment; Administer all emergency backup and ensure no interruptions in operations for same; Analyze equipment and perform repair as per requirement; Maintain records of warranty for all tools and equipment; Perform basic repairs to basic building components in coordination with building staff. Maintain workflow and ticketing system; Guide all members of the organization as to the policies for use of the Data Center; Refine and or develop standard operation procedures for operations; Maintain Data Center access logs; Implement system firmware updates via maintenance matrix; Assist all senior level engineers and perform troubleshoot on all customer issues; and All candidates to comply with all security policies/procedures.Skills: Strong troubleshooter - you know every problem has a solution; you are unrelenting, persistent, and confident that you will find that solution; Manage stressful situations with calm, courtesy, and confidence; 2-5 years' experience working in a Data Center environment; 2-5 years' of demonstrated capacity working with compute and server systems Manage stressful situations with calm, courtesy, and confidence; Associates degree i Computer Science, technical field, or equivalent experience; 2-5 years' experience troubleshooting Server hardware, complex computing platforms, and/or cutting-edge technologies involving virtualization, distribution, and high availability.Strong understanding of signal and electrical flow, circuit limits, and the logic associated with ensuring redundant systems will perform as designed; Experience with server hardware maintenance platforms like the Cisco UCS platform and Dell Open Manage platform;Knowledge of existing industry standards, technologies, and operational norms, specifically as they relate to Data Center operations; Possess a strong sense of ownership and urgency; the capacity to ensure a problem is not dropped, forgotten, or ignored; Communication skills are of paramount importance in this position and you must be able and willing to communicate effectively and appropriately with representatives of every business unit, at every level; and Must embrace the team dynamic and demonstrate past success as a member of a complex technical organization.Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, technical field, or equivalent experience Skills and Required Skills: CISCODATA CENTERDATA CENTER OPERATIONSFIRMWAREMAINTAIN DATAAdditional Skills: MAINTENANCEOPERATIONSSECURITY POLICIESVIRTUALIZATIONWARRANTYWORKFLOWCABLINGDATA ANALYTICSDOCUMENTATIONMECHANICAL BUILDING SYSTEMSRADIO FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATIONRFIDROOT CAUSE ANALYSISSHIPPINGSYSTEMS SUPPORTWe are an equal opportunity employer and make hiring decisions based on merit.
