If so, we're looking for someone like you to join the System Performance Analysis Group, KBS, a talented team of data scientists, engineers, and analysts. Our team is seeking a dynamic, creative, and results-oriented full-stack software engineer to develop the next generation of analysis software for our group. We are looking for an individual with a passion for innovation and an analytical mind interested in thinking outside the box in order to help solve the toughest challenges facing our Nation! As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will make critical contributions by working on novel methods to develop next generation analysis software and maintain existing software, as well as participate in studies and analysis of sophisticated systems. As a Software Engineer in the Analytic Platform Development Section Your primary responsibility will be to design, implement, and document new software and create solutions in existing software to support data analysis of complex systems. Identify and implement process improvements for data storage, analysis, and visualization. Maintain version control (ie, Git) and be familiar with agile processes You will contribute to quick turn-around special studies by collaborating with other analysts, developers, program managers, and sponsors, to deliver informative and impactful technical products to sponsors that will drive their decisions. You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you BS degree in a computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related technical discipline, with 2 years of proven experience. Demonstrated software engineering skills Exposure to modeling, simulation, statistics and database design Excellent verbal and written communication skills Have experience crafting informative data visualizations Excellent presentation skills Experience with User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design Demonstrated initiative and interest in working in a team environment Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously Are able to obtain an interim secret clearance by your start date can ultimately obtain Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship. You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you Experience developing web-based, database driven applications. Strong skills with SQL, HTML, JavaScript and CSS Programming .Net web applications with Microsoft Visual Studio and Microsoft SQL Server with C#. AJAX and JQuery Experience developing user interfaces using .Net with Bootstrap or other packages Experience with data analysis packages such as SAS. R and Matlab Special Working Conditions: Limited travel required Hold an active Top Secret security clearance. Why work at APL?
