Field Support Engineer
Description: The Field Support Engineering team provides IT support to our sites that manufacture our beautiful hardscape and paver products, composite decking and packaged mulch, garden soil and more. We are always looking for ways to improve our sites IT experience and operations so they can continue to make us the finest building materials company in North America. Key Responsibilities -Provide remote and onsite IT support to field locations for network, servers, voice and data communications, wireless, production systems, phone system hardware, printers, and user-related hardware. -Create and maintain up-to date documentation for network and systems operations. Skills: cable installation, switches, networking protocols, customer service, troubleshooting, windows Top Skills Details: 1.) 2+ years of experience with Networking - Layer 1 experience- running cable, hanging racks, installing switches, access points etc. Basic level understanding of networking is crucial for this position. 2.) 2+ years of Troubleshooting Skills - They will be supporting a variety of hardware and software. Need to have an analytical troubleshooting mindset. Hardware: Printers, Desktops, Laptops, handled scanners, VoIP phones, Etc. 3.) Customer service - They will be supporting a variety of different End users and this is critical to be able to provide a great experience. **Need steel toe boots** Additional Skills & Qualifications: Requirements/Experience Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Field Engineer Technician, Service Desk Tech, or similar IT role. Hands-on installation and troubleshooting experience: o Cisco switches, access points, wireless bridges, servers, printers, IP phones, desktops and laptops o Ability to install and troubleshoot Layer1 issues o Familiarity with Cat5/6 ethernet cabling installation and termination o Ability to apply pre-determined configurations and troubleshoot issues in Cisco command line interface o Windows 10 o Experience supporting Windows Server 2012/2016 and file share permissions a plus Self-motivated and directed, with excellent time-management and organization skills Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate IT needs in words users can understand. Ability to frequently lift heavy objects, climb ladders, work in tight spaces, and install hardware such as network racks, computers, printers, access points, and cabling.
