Summary

You will serve as a Security Specialist at the GG-13 grade level responsible for the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying, preventing, and protecting information, personnel, facilities, operations, or material where the loss could pose a direct threat to national security.

Responsibilities

  • You will serve as Government Special Security Officer (GSSO) for the Special Access Program (SAP) and Security Officer for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) within the Collection Operations Department, Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI).
  • You will provide an extensive range of security support for multiple national collection programs that include contractor/government personnel and facilities on controlled and special access programs (CAP/SAP) for the Department of Navy.
  • You will determine the suitability and security eligibility of individuals for entry and retention in sensitive and non-sensitive positions.
  • You will plan, review, and evaluate policy, regulation, and procedures in order to carry out all assignments necessary to implement security throughout the activity/field to meet Navy and national security programs requirements.
  • You will manage program security communications/courier networks and support security requirements for commands IT infrastructure.

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS/GG-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as:
  • Administering and evaluating security indoctrination's to determine whether to grant, deny, revoke, suspend, or restrict security clearances.
  • Developing and implementing security policy for the command relating to personnel clearance procedures, document storage, security classification, document transmittal, courier service, security indoctrination's and security education.
  • Conducting physical security reviews and provide onsite security assessments and inspections.
  • Developing Security Classification Guides for Special Access Programs (SAP) and Controlled Access Programs (CAP).
