Summary

What General Information Do I Need To Know About This Position?

The Office of the Solicitor (SOL), Division of Administration is seeking a Management and Program Analyst to support the SOL human resources office which services over 500 employees in the SOL organization. This individual will be responsible for a wide variety of human resources functions including program oversight, data analysis, systems administration, database management, reporting, tracking and administrative functions.

Responsibilities

As a Management and Program Analyst with the Department of the Interior, Office of the Solicitor, Division of Administration located in Washington, DC your specific duties will include:
  • Manages long-term projects and a variety of special, non-recurring projects, which involve defining problems, gathering data, and coordinating, analyzing, evaluating, compiling, and preparing final.
  • Coordinates, tracks, and monitors program related actions communicating results with supervisors, managers, and executives regarding the status of program and/or personnel actions.
  • Lead identification and documentation of potential projects in a variety of areas such as HR, awards, and performance management.
  • Prepares a variety of human resources reports, memorandums, creates templates, and tabulates information in final form, ensuring the material complies with prescribed formats, regulations, and other data requirements.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct either short or long-term efforts to evaluate and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of activities, projects, and specific operations carried out within the Office of the Solicitor.
  • Prepares required human resources, fiscal documents and reports for the supervisor and other members of the management team.
  • Utilizes a variety of complex reports, briefings, and memorandums to create analytical studies and provides substantive recommendations in support of office initiatives and special projects
  • Develops standards and guidelines to advise management and staff of new regulations and administrative procedures affecting administration of the office. Assists in development of new office procedures to increase efficiency.

    Qualifications

    For GS-13 :

    In order to qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position.

    To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service. Examples of GS-12 level work may include performing the following types of tasks in either the private or public sector: analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of organizational programs; performing studies and analyses used to evaluate the effectiveness of policies and procedures related to the management and administration of human resources operations; developing procedures implemented by management to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations; and recommending and implementing operations solutions to senior management.
