Hughes has an exciting opportunity for an Electronics Technician. This position will be located at our offer in Gaithersburg, MD. Responsibilities: Performs all operations necessary to test, align, and troubleshoot electronics modules and assemblies at the component level. Assists with installation and upgrade of equipment and test beds. Monitors and troubleshoots LAN connections, traffic, and network outages. Responsible for technical documentation, correspondence, and communication. Some contact with customers and outside vendors is needed. Must be capable of obtaining and holding a US government security clearance. Basic Requirements: Associate s degree of Engineering, Electronics or Electrical Engineering Technology 4 years of experience in digital or RF board debug, test and verification Preferred Qualifications: Good communications skills Understanding of digital and baseband technology Using digital and analog test equipment like voltmeter, power supply, power meter, oscilloscope, signal generator, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, BER tester PC and networking experience with PC applications, TCP/IP, routers and LAN switches Reasonable understanding of analog and RF Testing, aligning and troubleshooting electronic modules and assemblies Board and component level debug and rework on printed wired assemblies Good technical writing skills Understanding of communications systems preferred Building prototypes including electromechanical modules and rack assemblies Managing assets including equipment control, inventory and repairs EchoStar and its Affiliated Companies are committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
