Vice President of Corporate Development
Description SAIC is looking for a Vice President of Corporate Development responsible for identifying emerging technologies, Ventures, and M&A. This position will report to the SVP of Corporate Development. Playing a critical role in SAIC s innovation ecosystem, the ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and evaluating trends and emerging technologies found in startups, mature technology companies, and universities, and working with business unit leads to collaborate in determining the best approach to introduce the technology to the enterprise. In addition, the candidate will assist in the development of the firm s venture strategy and lead relationship with the venture capital community. The candidate will participate in driving the company's overall innovation agenda; work directly with external and internal customers across multiple business units to understand and aggregate key technology gaps, summarize for internal leadership, lead identification of new technology focus areas. The candidate will also be responsible for the development of a strategy for the implementation of architectures to identify, monitor, and leverage technologies for the closure of capability gaps. Roles and responsibilities: 1. Lead the creation of SAIC s overall technology scouting strategy and implement the operational process for the identification, evaluation, and relationship development of emerging technologies to advance SAIC s or our client s strategies/missions 2. Lead SAIC s relationships with the Venture Capital community and their portfolio companies 3. Working with business units and the Strategy, Growth, and Innovation organization, seek specific companies to partner with on program opportunities while also identifying companies that may be targeted for acquisition or minority investment 4. Assess entry opportunity for emerging technology-enabled offering. Identified essential internal technology assets, M&A / corporate venture capital / strategic alliance requirements, and investment case 5. Support targeting and technology M&A 6. Partner with competitive analysis to quantify the impact of emerging competitor behaviors, identify adjacent product categories with the potential revenue headroom 7. Identify adjacent expansion opportunity to increase revenue Qualifications ualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science or Business Discipline. Master s Degree preferred. Minimum of 15 years of experience, with 10 years of experience identification of emerging technologies, ventures, strategy, trend research, and innovation. 10+ years project management experience 10+ years of proven track record of excellent innovation achievements Strong financial background and demonstrated competence in performing technical due diligence Strong aptitude for working with a broad range of scientific and innovative disciplines Excellent networking skills, both internal and external Advanced creative, deductive and entrepreneurial thinking Strong willingness to learn and gain deeper competencies in various fields Strong eagerness to translate insights into opportunities Excellent written and verbal communication skills People leadership skills and a proven capability to lead in matrix organizations without formal disciplinary responsibility Analytical and conceptualization skills Advanced ability to structure, illustrate and or communicate complex concepts in an understandable, practicable manner Overview SAIC is a premier technology integrator solving our nation's modernization and readiness challenges.
