PDS Tech, inc. is seeking a Sr Software Engineer 2, in Annapolis, MD. Job Overview: Primary Responsibilities: Act as a leader to the software development team. Provide technical guidance for the software group on an assigned project. Provide technical leadership and oversight and when necessary, hands-on coding. Oversee design, development, testing, and validation of programming code and products. Facilitate daily scrums, stand-ups, and meetings to monitor project progress and remove impediments. Organize and track SW team activities while providing schedule support and task decomposition. Creation and management of user stories and sprints in JIRA. Coordinate and collaborate with the Project Manager and other discipline leads. Follow and enforce engineering guidelines set in system development methodology. Train junior engineers. Review code and triage issues. Support Department initiatives. Conduct activities professionally and in a forthright manner. Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor s degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, HS Diploma/Equivalent plus 11 years of relevant experience is required. Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline preferred. Seven (7) years of software engineering experience in progressively more challenging positions. Software architecture and design skills. Knowledge of at least two and an expert in at least one of the following: oC o C++ o Java o Erlang o C# Knowledge of relational databases of at least one of the following: o Oracle o SQL Server o PostgreSQL Proficient in Atlassian tools: JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket. Proficient in MS Project. Key skills for success: Ability to collaborate and maintain professional conduct with peers, project team members, and management personnel.
