About The Job Sandy Spring Bank is currently recruiting a Wire Specialist in the Deposit Operations Department. If you are the chosen candidate, you will independently perform day-to-day duties such as processing, monitoring, verifying and posting Domestic, International USD and FX wire transfers. You will follow established policies to ensure compliance with OFAC, Regulation J, Regulation E and Uniform Commercial Code Article 4A (UCC 4A). Additionally, you will provide professionally clear and concise information when conversing with clients. You will consistently provide a remarkable client experience for both internal and external clients by following Sandy Spring Bank s Principles, and cross train to provide support to all functions within the Treasury and EFT group. Areas of Focus: Perform daily wire functions as well as incoming and outgoing securities via FedLine in a timely manner. Clear OFAC queue accurately with a clear and concise note attached and escalate any non-routine problems to Fundtech and FIS conducting necessary follow up and informing management of current workflow status, system and client issues. Initiate research for all wire functions when necessary and adjust client accounts/prepare responses to ensure compliance while maintaining adherence to internal procedures. Create a remarkable client experience throughout all levels of the organization regarding all aspects of wire processing while performing all callbacks in a friendly and professional manner. Maintain all files associated with fax and phone clients and monitor the wire proxy box to ensure all branch and internal department requests are processed. Cross train and provide support to all functions within the Treasury and EFT group as needed. Attend educational and training courses to maintain knowledge of regulations and guidelines. Required Skills: High School Diploma, plus three years experience in banking operations with 1-year concentration in electronic funds transfer (EFT) support services. Ability to utilize PC systems including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications with basic to intermediate knowledge. Proficient operating standard equipment such as calculator, copier, fax and PC. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must write clear and precise procedures for daily and monthly work. Effective interpersonal skills for working within a team environment. Must be able to explain problems clearly and interact in professional/positive manner. Knowledge of technical ACH processing with demonstrated understanding of NACHA and MC Operating Rules, Regulation E, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), Article 4A and UST Greenbook. Ability to organize and maintain files and records and work accurately with attention to details and deadlines with the ability to work independently.
