Who you'll support: Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR) located at the Department of State in Washington, DC. The primary mission of the INR is to harness intelligence to serve US diplomacy. This is a highly visible bureau within the Department of State created by former Secretary of State George Marshall in 1947. INR is a direct descendant of the Office of Strategic Services Research Department and the oldest civilian intelligence element in the US Government. Who we are looking for: Computer World Services has an exciting opportunity for a highly-motivated Software Developer to work within an agile environment. You'll have a strong knowledge of object-oriented programming within the following aspects of the Microsoft development stack: C#, .NET, Visual Studio, MVC and SQL. Responsibilities include: INR/PUB Product Development Enhance existing and help develop new INR products. These INR products include the following: Microsoft Word templates for text and graphics. Macro programs using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Interactions with SQL Server database. Workflow and email. Potential SharePoint interactions. Potential XML and XSLT usage. Potential use of Visual Studio Tools for Office and VB.NET or C#.NET. Potential use of graphical and multi-media development tools. Additional Development/Support Work Support year-end and ad hoc reporting using database queries and programs where necessary. Help implement Publications guidance and templates web site in SharePoint. Help automate processes and manage information. Help publish to various platforms and in various formats - html, xml/xslt, and pdf. Years of Experience Required 10 or more years of software development experience. 2 or more years of VBA or .NET development experience. Clearance Requirements Top Secret Skills Required MS Word templates and VBA programming, or C# or VB.NET programs and VSTO Additional Relevant Skills/Experience (not required) HTML/XHTML and CSS. SharePoint SQL Server Workflow tools JavaScript and/or JQuery.
