This position will be in the Pathways rotational program where there will be three rotation opportunities within engineering. Northrop Grumman is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Defense Systems Intern Program. This position will be located in Fairfax, VA. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Defense Travel System program. Roles and Responsibilities Develop and modify the Defense System Travel application software Update system documentation Troubleshoot any issues that arise with the application Create unit tests while developing new code or fixing existing code Participate in code reviews Participate in the elicitation and specification of requirements Researches, designs, develops, and/or modify Java/J2EE application using technologies such as JSP, SQL, Strut, Spring, XML Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards Solve complex technical issues under general supervision Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must: Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor's, or Master's) from an accredited institution. Be majoring in or having majored in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Math, or related discipline Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile). Be able to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance (US citizenship is a pre-requisite) Experience and/or coursework with Java, JSP, SQL, Oracle, Python, and/or XML Demonstrated understanding of software design patterns Preferred Qualifications: Prior Northrop Grumman Intern Experience 3.7 cumulative GPA or higher Experience in Linux and iOSX Previous experience with Agile Development Experience in working on business or engineering full life-cycle projects Software design, development, unit testing and integration experience Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
