VP of Product Mobile
Company Global Digital is seeking a business outcomes-focused, mobile-obsessed product management leader to oversee Company s flagship mobile product portfolio, inclusive of the Bonvoy iOS and Android apps and key touchpoints in the mobile ecosystem. Reporting to the VP, Flagship Digital Products, this critical position will lead a fast-paced environment in close collaboration with cross-functional (product design, engineering, content, operations, marketing) and cross-region teams and stakeholders to conceive, launch and grow winning mobile products through their full lifecycle. He/she will focus relentlessly on the end to end customer engagement and conversion funnel KPIs and performance metrics on our mobile products, such as app adoption / penetration, MAUs, retention, engagement and conversion on room and non-room products. Balancing bias for action against collaboration, this leader will form close partnerships with teams across the company to deliver revenue growth, deepen customer engagement, and activate new audiences for the company. A successful candidate will be intimately familiar with mobile product development including iOS and Android app technologies, mobile user experience creation and native app ecosystems that enable the distribution, engagement and monetization of the apps and their users. A collaborative team spirit, highly analytical mindset, strong business acumen and finely-honed leadership and communication skills to champion and manage change throughout the organization is a must. He/she also needs to be keenly aware of an apply industry best practices in mobile product management, demonstrating thought leadership and ultimately has a passion for the travel business and delivering great mobile products that consumers love. Education and Experience 4-year degree from an accredited college or university MBA or advanced degree in business management desirable Required 10+ years of direct experience in digital product management / development positions, with demonstrated experience in full-lifecycle consumer-facing digital product management, including at least 5 years of experience in developing iOS and Android apps for mobile phones and tablets from conception to iterative growth 5+ years of experience leading people and driving cross-functional teams towards business outcomes Knowledge and practice of core principals of software development lifecycles preference for knowledge and experience with Agile and SAFE practices In-depth knowledge of mobile technologies including iOS, Android and other native app and mobility platforms Experience managing multiple complex initiatives simultaneously Excellent program / project management skills to lead teams in distributed environments involved in delivering complex business systems. Relationship-building skills as well as strong leadership and team management skills, with deep understanding of business impact on delivery. Strong planning skills including ability to develop presentations, roadmaps and spreadsheets. Strong interpersonal and meeting facilitation skills required to lead and manage all team members, internal and external clients, vendors and meetings. Strong leadership and mentoring skills that inspire team confidence while motivating team members in a creative and effective manner Ability to solve real-life problems quickly, think creatively and satisfy speed-to-market needs Dynamic people skills (team orientation, judgment, interpersonal relations, results/goal orientation, resiliency/adaptability) Experience managing products and projects through a highly matrix and relationship-based organization CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Product Leadership Strategy and product development Collaborate with VP, Flagship Digital Products to create and deliver the Company Digital global product strategy and roadmap Partner with UX, research and design team to set and maintain a high bar for quality in all of Company s digital products and experiences Define and communicate key metrics to determine product performance and gain insights into ability to achieve product goals, new opportunities and growth potential Collaborate with cross-organizational stakeholders to align and elevate Digital global products and experiences. ' These partnerships include International Leadership; Sales, Distribution Strategy and Revenue teams; iT; and across the Digital organization. Continuously communicate and champion digital product strategy and success to executive teams across Company to win and maintain support for key initiatives Monitor competitive landscape, industry trends, and sales/customer feedback to identify consumer needs & trends and identify product opportunities Create product requirements and partner with IT and design to create amazing user experiences and products that solve problems and drive business value Track and analyze product usage patterns and identify opportunities to drive audience, engagement and revenue Globalization Partner closely with digital leaders around the world on the development of global and localized product strategies and capabilities that enable effective, relevant features and functionality that can be activated locally while benefitting the Global business. Provide strategic insights, recommendations and partnership with continent and discipline leaders to fully leverage our global products for driving local success. Align Company s Digital product strategies with continent needs ensuring we solve for global and local nuances where appropriate. Lead Discipline Team & Developing Associates Lead and build a team of high-performing product managers and provide leadership in all aspects of product development process Maintain high performance levels by attracting and retaining high potential product managers, developing people, managing performance, building career paths, and aligning performance and rewards to company goals. Identify skillset gaps and further develop digital capabilities amongst team members and agencies and partners to better support strategic growth Further establish a team culture that embraces innovation and rewards risk taking and test/learn cycles. Support individual team and department-wide efforts to improve Digital team culture and work environment as reflected in annual AOS results. Managing and Conducting Human Resources Activities Interviews and hires employees. Promotes the fair and equitable treatment of employees. Facilitates regular, ongoing communication in department (eg, staff meetings). Fosters employee commitment to providing excellent service, participates in daily stand-up meetings and models desired service behaviors in all interactions with customer and employees. Incorporates customer satisfaction as a component of staff/operations meetings with an emphasis on generating innovative ways to continually improve results. Sets goals and expectations for direct reports using the performance review process and holds staff accountable for performance goals. Solicits employee feedback. Utilizes an open door policy and reviews employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns. Promotes adherence to policies consistently, follows disciplinary procedures and documents items according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and supports the Peer Review Process. Conducts annual performance appraisal with direct reports according to Standard Operating Procedures. Champions change ensures brand and regional business initiatives are implemented and communicates follow-up actions to team as necessary. Identifies talents of direct reports and their teams and assists with their growth and development plans.
