We are actively seeking a Systems Engineer to provide on-site support to the ODNI CTO s mission. The successful candidate must quickly develop a broad understanding of the ODNI CTO s initiatives. They must project a professional demeanor, utilizing oral and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills are important as this position requires working with and getting buy-in from senior professional staff, and mid to high-level government leadership within the ODNI. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, flexible, and willing to take the initiative on tasks supporting the ODNI CTO. Additionally, the candidate may be involved in the evaluation and recommendation of commercial and open-source technologies for large-scale data systems providing high availability, geographic diversity, and low latency. The candidate must be capable of detailed technical writing, effective visual presentations, and sound verbal communication with peers and senior management. The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide technical direction, guidance, and strategic support to the Chief Technology Officer of the ODNI Prepare and provide technical recommendations in support of existing and future technology standards, especially those required to leverage IC ITE, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft 365/Azure, and ServiceNow Provide technical advice and recommendations for enterprise architecture solutions Serve as an ODNI CTO representative and attend IC-wide and Federal Government meetings, as necessary Recommend cost-optimization solutions for on-premises, cloud, and hybrid cloud computing environments Prepare technical implementation road maps to support the evolution of existing capabilities to the to-be enterprise architecture Run reports to identify potential improvements in security, vulnerabilities, and performance, of ODNI cloud environments Assist with the identifying metrics and analyzing measures associated with all ODNI IT systems Evaluate existing technology solutions and provide recommendations for to-be ODNI technology requirements Identify, vet, and create business cases for new IT requirements from ODNI components Provide technical expertise on cloud computing and cloud migration based on best practices for both Qualifications Candidate must have an active TS/SCI clearance, a CI polygraph Possess a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience Working knowledge of current technologies, strategical technical direction, and implementation practices in government (IC/DoD) and industry Knowledge of current cloud computing environments, architectures, and migration efforts Familiarity with AWS cloud, Microsoft Azure cloud, or other cloud service providers Ability to effectively plan, organize, and lead tasks Ability to work with short-notice requirements and fluid priorities Self-starter who requires little or no direction or supervision Excellent written and oral communications skills; specific experience interacting with senior government or commercial leadership Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of three years of experience in supporting the IC Previous work experience supporting Technology Officers or Technical Directors; 5 years combined government or commercial experience in technology and/or technical guidance and support; Experience using XACTA and the ServiceNow application platform; Working knowledge of current IC/DoD enterprise architecture frameworks and associated governance; Recent experience performing in a Systems Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) role SAIC is a premier technology integrator solving our nation's modernization and readiness challenges.
