Here, employees are empowered to express diverse perspectives and are made to feel valued, energized and rewarded for their ideas and creativity.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesAstraZeneca has a new opportunity for an Associate Scientist I / II position within the Analytical Sciences, Bioassay Impurities and Quality group. The successful candidate will take a lead role in developing and qualifying a wide-range of cell-based bioassays, binding assays for the release and stability testing of therapeutic antibodies and recombinant proteins, as well as for characterization of biological therapeutics. It is expected to contribute to the creation and review of documents such as development reports, SOPs, assay transfer protocols/reports, CMC regulatory filings (IND, BLA, etc.), and scientific journal publications.The successful candidate will be expected to make detailed observations, analyze data, interpret results, and exercise appropriate technical discretion in the design, execution, and interpretation of experiments in an independent manner. Preparation of technical reports, protocols, and technical summaries for presentation is required. The candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills. He/she will need to solve technical problems using an experimental approach (DOE) and develop new characterization methods. The candidate will present and discuss experimental results at group/project team meetings and at scientific conferences. Finally, he/she must be able to work in a team-based structure and interface with different research and development departments.RequirementsEducation:Associate Scientist I: BS with 5+ years of experience or MS with 2+ years of experienceAssociate Scientist II: BS with 8+ years of experience or MS with 5+ years of experienceBiotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience working in the fields of cellular immunology, immune oncology and/or cellular therapies is required. Highly proficient with basic immunology techniques is required and must have extensive experience in cell-based bioassays. Experience in flow cytometry and working knowledge of FlowJo or equivalent flow cytometry data analysis software. Experience with qPCR, ddPCR. Previous experience with cell line generation using transfection / infection techniques are desirable. Familiarity with software packages to analyze dose-responses and statistical analysis (SoftMax, JMP, etc.).by Jobble
