Job Summary/Company:
Sparks Group has partnered with an engineering and construction management firm seeking a Safety Officer to manage their safety compliance for field operations. The ideal candidate will have a construction management background, ideally in transportation, conduct field site visits as well as creating policies and procedures. Responsibilities:
  • Develop policies, standards and safety procedures
  • Perform audits and inspections on site to ensure health and safety compliance
  • Review safety programs and policies to provide solutions and ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Develop safety training programs and documentation for future operations
  • Manage compliance applicable to OHSA, DHS and DOT requirements
  • Assist with the Covid-19 response team in compliance with CDC and state guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years experience in safety compliance related to construction environment
  • Degree in construction management or civil engineering
  • Ability to travel to field sites within Mid-Atlantic region
  • Knowledge of regulations (e.g. OSHA/EPA/CDC)
  • Ability to write reports and policies for health and safety improvements
  • CSP or similar certification (CIH, CHMM, etc)
  • Ability to wear occupational PPE
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
