Responsibilities

As a Program Analyst, you will:
  • Analyze and evaluate programs and policies to measure the impact and compliance of program issuances and/or protocols on civil rights and fair housing.
  • Provide technical assistance, training, and direct support to HUD programs on civil rights and fair housing requirements. This includes preparing and presenting training material in a classroom or through satellite broadcast; or participating in focus groups and seminars.
  • Works closely with the staff of other HUD program offices to assure that FHEO policies and program standards are fully considered in correspondence prepared to the field offices and other HUD customers.
  • Review and analyze proposed legislation, task force reports, and other working papers on new initiatives being planned by entities within FHEO and other HUD program areas for their impact on the Department's civil rights obligations and objectives, including the objective to affirmatively further fair housing.

This position is located in the Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO). The official duty station for this position will be in Washington, DC. Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience for the GS-13 level is one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes:
- Experience analyzing fair housing programs to assess civil rights impact; AND
- Communicating information to the internal and external stakeholders through oral presentations, training, education and outreach campaigns and written reports; AND
- Skill in critical writing regarding policy issues or procedures and recommendation memoranda based on new regulation or legislation.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
