This position is located in the FDA Office of Information Management and Technology, Office of Information Security (OIS) which provide high quality, secure, and efficient IT solutions that enable the FDA to promote and protect the public health.

Responsibilities

  • This position reports to the Foreign Travel Operations Manager under the guidance of the Director for Counterintelligence and Insider Threat.
  • Serve as a cybersecurity engineer in providing coordination, operational, and technical support for overseas travel and distribution of associated IT equipment.
  • Provides timely responses and assistance for customer requests and inquiries.
  • Perform advanced forensics examinations on foreign travel IT equipment.
  • Conducts treat and vulnerability scans and assessments for the identification for malicious activity and other cyber related threats.

Have one year of experience preparing information technology equipment for customers undertaking foreign travel; communicating with external and internal stakeholders regarding information technology equipment requirements associated with foreign travel; and providing technical support to customers during foreign travel.

In accordance with Office of Personnel Management policy, federal employees are assumed to have gained experience by performing duties and responsibilities appropriate for their official series and grade level as described in their position description. Experience that would not normally be part of the employee's position is creditable, however, when documented by satisfactory evidence, such as a signed memorandum from the employee's supervisor or an SF-50 or SF-52 documenting an official detail or other official assignment. The documentation must indicate whether the duties were performed full time or, if part time, the percentage of times the other duties were performed. It is expected that this documentation is included in the employee's official personnel record.
