Summary

This position is in the Department of Justice, Justice Management Division, Budget Staff and is the Deputy Assistant Director for the Department Administration and Oversight Group (DAOG) for the Working Capital Fund (WCF) Team. Budget Staff is responsible for the development, direction and execution of Department-wide program budget operations; planning and conduct of program budget review efforts.

Responsibilities

  • You will develop guidance for use throughout the Department on budget execution.
  • You will direct and monitor reporting on the rate of expenditures of funds.
  • You will monitor legislative actions on appropriation bills and amendments, including attending appropriation committee hearings.
  • You will develop and maintain a variety of execution reports on the utilization of funds and available balances for dissemination
  • You will oversee and manage budget execution work involving the most difficult fund control activities including adapting budgetary policies, analytical methods, and procedures for use by departmental components.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Supervisory Budget Analyst at (GS-0560-14), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to.
If you are a current government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade.

To qualify for this position at the GS-14 level, you must possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service, experience includes:
  • Leading or supervising a team of employees;
  • Developing and applying various methods and techniques of budgeting for the forecasting of long-range funding needs; AND
  • Developing and maintaining a variety of execution reports on the utilization of funds and available balances for dissemination to higher level budget authoritative agencies.
