Responsibilities

  • Oversees the day-to-day administrative oversight of BLM Data Tracking System (DTS), provides guidance and training to other DTS users, and provides administrative support to the Communications Directorate.
  • Incumbent portrays technical and complex issues in clear written terms.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with counterparts throughout the BLM and in other Department bureaus and offices.
  • Responsible for amending and keeping up-to-date the correspondence and document management directives, the BLM Style Guide, and other references, templates and correspondence resources.

Qualifications

You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Tracks drafting, editing and production of correspondence and routinely briefs senior leaders on status of controlled correspondence and any backlogs. Plans and organizes workflow. Studies, analyzes, and develops methods to improve accuracy, adequacy, and timeliness of letters sent over for signature.

There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-13 grade level.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.

Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604.
