ECS is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Assembler to work in our Chantilly, VA office.Job Description: This position provides the following necessary services to the ECS Radar Group:provide skilled assembly of electronic system hardware for Radar and Flight Termination systems. assemble printed circuit boards, chassis harnesses, cables, precision mechanical devices, equipment racking and cable dressingall work is performed at the ECS manufacturing facility with rare occasions for performance at the end customer installation location.candidate will be required to complete a PCB assembly test kit during the interview.Required Skills:Must be a US CitizenHigh School Diploma/GEDPrinted circuit board assembly - ranging from thru-hole and fine pitch assemblies as small as 0402 components and 12.5 mil pitch devices. All work is completed using hand techniques and tools. High density and fine pitch assemblies requires tasks be completed using microscope. Cable assemblies - Assembly of a variety of cable assemblies ranging from large gauge military circular connectors, industry standard D type connectors to high density insulation displacement connectors that us discrete wiring, coaxial and ribbon cables. Chassis assemblies - assembly of standard equipment rack mount and unique physical configurations required. Wiring harness assembly that includes in-place wiring and to a lesser extent wire looming technique are required. The internal chassis wiring is predominately 14-28 AWG discrete point-to-point wiring. Occasionally heavy gauge wiring of assemblies is required in which gauge sizes from 30 to 2 AWG is used. In all cases, the technician utilizes hand tools to complete the crimping and soldering process.Must be capable of reading and interpreting assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, cable lists, and parts lists. Working knowledge of electronic component and assembly tool terminologyGood oral and written communication skillsMinimum 8 years of experienceDesired Skills:Printed circuit board re-work - de-soldering of PCB assemblies that include very high pin count fine pitch devices is to be completed without damage to the PCB pads and substrate.
