Our client is part of the US Governments effort to modernize healthcare in the United States and is seeking aa healthcare professional to lead part of this effort as the Director of their Public Health Division. In this role, they will lead growth and delivery supporting the public health mission of their sponsors. Our clients Public Health Division conducts research and development, studies and analyses, and systems engineeringactivities to reinvent health systems, enhance the care experience, and protect and promote the health andwell-being of all Americans. Sponsored by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) andoperated by our client, the Health Division serves as an objective adviser to all HHS organizations and otherfederal agencies with health and human services missions. The Director of the Public Health Division will advance the strategic priorities and programs of the Health andHuman Services public health related organizations. The Public Health Division Director is accountable for sponsor engagement and work shaping as well as work delivery in the public health area. The Director will be responsible for identifying, securing and building strategic partnerships to develop and deliver on programs that align with our clients Public Sector strategy, and provide "whole of government" solutions. The Public Health Division Director is responsible for all aspects of operating this important Division: * Leadership: Leading all aspects of operating this important division. Serving as a partnerto the sponsors through thought leadership in critical mission areas. * Strategic Planning: Identifying and anticipating major sponsor and environmental trends,opportunities, and issues; continually shaping the plan and strategy accordingly to achievemission impact, critical outcomes, and enable good growth through our work program. Leadingexecutive-level engagements with HHS sponsors, constituents, and stakeholders to buildtrusted relationships across the mission area. Shaping work to deliver mission impact andachieve sponsor mission and outcomes. * Integration: Collaborating and partnering with senior leadership in other divisions andinnovation centers to plan and align growth strategies and execute the work program withexcellence and impact. Building relationships, networks, and potentially new organizationalconstructs that drive cross-sponsor approaches that increase the value of theplatform. Developing and deploying cross-agency solutions that support the transformation of health & healthcare across our clients public-sector programs. * Quality delivery: Leading, planning, and executing the work program to ensure mission impactand high levels of customer satisfaction and technical quality, while bringing forwardconsistency, innovation, and best practices. Overseeing division quality program ensuringtechnical and strategic quality review of division project plans, capabilities, and deliverables. * Staff development and workforce shaping: Shaping a high-caliber team to deliver high-value,high-impact work, including ensuring that staffing levels are maintained for critical skills andthat the right people are placed in the right jobs. Qualifications:The Public Health Director needs to possess a strong leadership presence, demonstrated thoughtleadership, and the ability to manage a large division with multiple sponsor and customer organizations.Required Qualifications: * Knowledge and familiarity with the US governmental public health agencies including HHS,state, territorial, tribal, and local public health organizations, programs, and strategic priorities. * Broad understanding of the health and healthcare domain including public health, populationhealth, health equity, and health financing. * Experience meeting cost, schedule, performance, and quality for all sponsor work.Experience executing large complex endeavors from strategic, operational, and financialperspectives. * Successful engagement, relationship building, and collaboration record in a shared leadershipmodel. * Proven leadership skills managing and motivating highly skilled employees and deliveringimpactful results. * Significant exposure to and experience solving customer issues .* Demonstrated thought leadership in mission-oriented challenges of our sponsors. * Excellent communication skills with all levels of sponsors and internal staff. * Strong understanding of how the federal government works, including policies and practicesrelated to health and healthcare including the executive and legislative branches. * Strong understanding of the governmental public health system including authorities andinterdependence. * Understanding of public health science, professions, and workforce. * Demonstrated ability to work across organizations and integrate efforts to achieve moreimpactful outcomes. Minimum Qualifications:Minimum: BS and 15 years of related experience with a preference for governmental publichealth experience.Preferred Qualifications:* Graduate degree (Masters or PhD) from competitive academic program in a relevant field(eg public health, healthcare delivery science, life sciences, health administration,information technology, etc.).* Ten years experience leading in or with a health-related Federal Agency.
