GHD's Engineering Group is looking for an Electrical Engineer to work on electrical designs for Engineering Design Organization projects which could range from Water/Wastewater treatment plants to civilian and military Federal projects. This position can sit in either our Baltimore, MD, Bowie, MD, Chantilly, VA, Richmond, VA, Tampa, FL or Charlotte, NC offices. Day to day responsibilities for this role will include: Assist in designing power distribution, motor controls, instrumentation and lighting Enhance client relationships through effective communication and prompt delivery of service Perform construction phase engineering services such as shop drawing reviews, answers to request for information, O&M manual reviews, and startup/testing Ability to prepare and check design computations, exercise judgement to interpret and draw conclusions from calculations and prepare reports For success in this position, you will possess the following skills and qualifications: Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering Professional Engineer license or EIT certification with intent to pursue PE license Minimum of 3-5 years of Electrical Engineering design experience including: automation, piping and instrumentation diagrams, control strategies and narratives, electrical equipment schematics & wiring diagrams, panel layout, power distribution system & motor control schematics, PLC design and implementation, etc. Understanding of PLCs a plus Familiarity with AutoCAD and REVIT Proficient in Microsoft Office Strong analytical skills Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both within a team and independently Able and willing to travel as needed US Citizenship required Our commitment to you Fostering gender balance, diversity and acceptance of flexible working is central to the way GHD does business.
