We offer a highly competitive compensation and benefits package to the right person for this key position.ECS is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to work as a member of a team managing and maintaining multiple network enclaves to support the DOD community. The candidate will provide support to a team developing, maintaining, creating, documenting, and installing network and enclave infrastructure. This is a demanding, high-energy position requiring innovative solutions to network, hardware, and software problems. The candidate will work with a team to install maintain and design the physical and virtual infrastructure of multiple enclaves. The candidate must have strong problem-solving skills.Primary Duties:Devise solutions to complex operational problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment.Research, evaluate, and recommend new computer network equipment and technologies.Develop and execute contingency plans for network software and hardware failures including isolated and major outages.Utilize monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software and hardware equipment to troubleshoot and isolate problems, gauge network performance, and trace data and protocol activity.Perform these functions across a wide range of network facilities including physical media, protocol stacks, hubs, routers, bridges, gateways, digital servers, line drivers, telecommunications transport facilities, NCP and related software/hardware, and network management components.Architect, deploy, and administer production, test, and development environments.Support risk mitigation activities such as Assessment and Authorization (A&A), continuous monitoring, and vulnerability and configuration management.Conduct functional, interoperability, and security testingNext Generation Firewalls and layer 3 switches (Fortinet and Cisco)The job is located in Fairfax VA, with frequent local trips to Ashburn, VA.Required Skills:Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline preferred and at least eight to ten years of related experience.Must be Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 Compliant, IAT Level II.Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining multi-network transport.Experience configuring and deploying Cisco series LAN/WAN switches, routers, firewalls, optical networks, and Intrusion Prevention/Intrusion Detection devices.Network and troubleshooting experience with network protocols: VoIP, ATM, SONET, MPLS, L3VPN, L2VPN, QOS, MP-BGP, OSPF, VPLS, GRE and L2/L3 multicast.Demonstrated ability to understand the system and its environment of operation.Demonstrated ability to master technical capabilities like:Citrix Workspace and NetworkingNext Generation Firewalls and layer 3 switches (Fortinet and Cisco)Microsoft networking and products (AD, group policy, profiles, SQL, Exchange etc.)VMware ESXi and NetApp storage appliancesVirtual networking (VRF-lite, VLANs, etc.)DoD ACAS, HBSS, SCAP, and STIGsDesired Skills:Active Secret ClearanceSuperb client-facing skillsA track record of self-improvement and continuous learningAbility to make decisions in matters of significanceECS is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate or allow discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, citizenship, disability, veteran status or any other classification protected by federal, state, or local law.
