Westat is an employee-owned corporation providing research services to agencies of the U.S. Government, as well as businesses, foundations, and state and local governments. Westat's research, technical, and administrative staff of more than 2,000 is located at our headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, near Washington, DC.
Westat has an immediate opening for a Technical Assistance Specialist (Research Associate), who will provide support and assistance to our clients in an effort to improve the quality and response of the data collections. You will join our Social Policy and Economics Research (SPER) Practice, and focus on technical assistance.
Job Responsibilities:
• Work on a team to plan, implement, and deliver customer service protocols and technical assistance tools/resources.
• Provide technical assistance to filers throughout the data collection period via email and phone, using a helpdesk management system.
• Develop training materials, instructions, and reference guides.
• Build relationships with clients to understand contexts and provide customized support as needed.
• Identification of potential data submissions issues and work on resolutions.
• Direct junior staff and manage multiple tasks in a team-oriented environment.
• Develop contact materials for initial and follow up communications.
• Provide assistance in reviewing, cleaning, and updating the contact rosters.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on data collection requirements and on filer's technical assistance needs.
• Contribute to Westat efforts to improve and modernize data collections, including materials, protocols, information website, data collection, informational website, and reporting.
Basic Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of experience providing technical assistance and customer service.
• Experience conducting data quality checks and preparing data products for analysts.
• Experience with Government agency data support teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with EEO data collection and providing technical assistance to EEO filers.
Candidates must possess excellent communications skills, be detail oriented and able to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
