Responsibilities

Serves as a Correspondence Specialist within Policy & Innovation Division (AIR-600) providing program support in the area of correspondence. Performs routine and multiple assignments under the direction of a manager or more experienced professional. The work involves interaction with FAA employees, management officials, and executives. Interacts, collaborates, cooperates, and coordinates with a team to meet program and project goals. Provides support to the effectiveness of program operations in meeting established goals and objectives. Typical assignments include: reviewing incoming executive-level data requests and determining appropriate level of resources needed to coordinate response.

Maintains the automated mail control program to log, edit, and query all correspondence. Responsible for tracking and monitoring progress, assessing the quality of finished products, applicability, appropriate routing, accuracy, and format. Works closely with lines of business and staff offices as well as the Office of Aviation Safety (AVS) correspondence office, to ensure controls are answered in a timely manner.

Assists with gathering, analyzing, and compiling administrative and technical data from a variety of sources to support of objectives. Populates spreadsheets and maintains databases. Creates inventories and repositories, under predetermined procedures, to ensure a complete accounting of all records and documents. Assists in preparing presentations and reports, briefing notes, minutes, and/or other information specific to the needs and knowledge of the target audience. Prepares correspondence, reports, and other materials with responsibility for sentence structure, grammar, and spelling. Supports project meetings and periodic reviews.

Uses equipment and computer-based applications and tools that support organizational activities. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the FV-F/FG/GS-5 level you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least three years of progressively responsible general experience that demonstrates the ability to gather and compile administrative and technical data in order to maintain document inventories and repositories. Experience with automated correspondence systems in order to ensure timely responses to correspondence with at least one year equivalent to the FV-E, FG/GS-4 level.

Education Substitution: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university OR Combination education and experience may be qualifying for this position. To qualify based on education you must submit a copy of college transcripts. Failure to do so will result in loss of consideration. If selected, official transcripts will be required prior to employment. SCHOOLS MUST BE ACCREDITED BY AN ACCREDITING INSTITUTION RECOGNIZED BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.

Des Moines, Washington: $50,742.00 to $76,115.00 includes 27.02% locality pay

Burlington, Massachusetts: $51,577.00 to $77,368.00 includes 29.11% locality pay

Kansas City, Missouri: $46,863.00 to $70,189.00 includes 17.13% locality pay

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; $46,320.00 to $69,482.00 includes 15.95% locality pay

Fort Worth, Texas: $49,927.00 to $74,893.00 includes 24.98% locality pay
