Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the WorldSenior ParalegalPAE is seeking a Senior Paralegal to provide support to the litigation unit in completing pre-trial work such as document request productions and database creation. This position will also perform the following duties:Conduct factual and legal research and provide written analyses to address issues pertaining to the Section's rule making, coordination, or technical assistance responsibilities. Performs complex legal research; synopsizes transcripts of hearings and oral arguments for attorney use; reviews case related materials and identifies potentially conflicting statements or areas requiring further investigation; writes preliminary drafts of legal memorandum and correspondence. Performs moderately complex litigation support tasks, including, for example, detailed review and analysis of case materials in a broad range of subject matters, such as financial records, health care materials, and other litigation files; detailed indexing of case files; perform database searches; records management and file retention task. Create excel spreadsheets. Proofreads and edits deliverable products.May perform additional related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications:Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.At least two years of litigation paralegal experience required; trial experience very helpful. At least one year of experience in automated litigation support. Paralegal Certificate required. Juris Doctor degree (JD) may substitute Paralegal Certificate requirement. Must have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Must have experience with Relativity eDiscovery software.Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures and legal resources. Requires excellent writing skills, this position places a premium on the ability to write well. In applying the facts to the legal analysis, the writing must be logical, persuasive and sufficiently thorough so as to leave the reader with the firm feeling that the correct decision has been reached. Thorough knowledge of legal research tools, in particular Lexis and Westlaw. Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important.
