General Info Job Type: Full-Time Minimum Years of Experience Required: 10 Years Minimum Years of Education Required: High School/GED Speciality: Commercial,Industrial,Institutional Must be Authorized to Work in the US Company Info Job Description Job Title: Stationary Engineer Job Code: Department: O & M Salary Grade: Reports To: Supervisor or Chief Engineer EEO Code: 3 Direct Reports: May supervise others and subcontractors FLSA: Date Issued: Non-Exempt Date Amended: Position Summary: The purpose for this position is to install, repair and maintain commercial heating, air conditioning, electrical, fire alarm & security systems, and associated hardware and equipment at an assigned facility, while acquiring the skills & knowledge, and completing the training, required to obtain licenses. Major Duties: (may perform many or all of the following duties) Perform daily, weekly and monthly inspections of systems and associated equipment. Perform preventative and general maintenance on a scheduled basis. Maintain equipment to industry standards. Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing and electrical problems as required and/or as assigned by supervisor. Provide assistance and support to sub-contractors designated to perform installation and/or repair of equipment and/or hardware. Interface with building manager and other customer representatives in order to ensure client satisfaction. Complete daily, weekly and/or monthly reports of system status as directed by supervisor. Run wiring, cabling, and ductwork, and mount equipment according to specifications as directed. Place or remove systems and equipment as directed. Purchase materials and supplies, and maintain inventory as required for timely work completion. Prepare and distribute daily, weekly and monthly reports of system status and work completed. Operate and maintain HVAC, electrical and security systems and associated hardware and equipment as directed. Prepare predictive maintenance on assigned equipment in order to prevent breakdowns and/or outages. Accurately document work performed on tickets and/or work orders. Assist in educating and training assigned staff. Perform other related duties as assigned. (Over) Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent Universal CFC Certification 2 to 4 years as an Maintenance Mechanic 5 to 8 years of relevant experience operating and maintaining mechanical equipment Must posses excellent customer skills Able to lift up to sixty (60) pounds Capable of climbing ladders up to a height of thirty (30) feet Skills & Attributes Necessary for Success: Written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills Strong customer skills Moderate supervisory skills Able to read and understand blueprints, schematics, technical materials, and manufacturers manuals Detailed working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems and hardware. Able to work independently and complete assigned work in a timely and quality manner Working knowledge of hand tools, electrical and power tools, meters and gauges. Ability to plan and execute work activities with minimal direction.
