Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group has teamed up with a leading finance and advisory firm to search for a motivated and proactive Sr. Audit Associate. The Associate will demonstrate proficiency with accounting and auditing concepts and facilitating resolution on varied related issues. They will provide guidance and experience to ensure that risks are identified, and appropriate audit steps are implemented. The ideal candidate will have prior public accounting and audit experience, an active CPA license or the eligibility to obtain one.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide financial accounting, audit, and advisory services to help clients address accounting and audit issues
  • Research and analyze financial statements, audit and tax-related issues and use audit software to review and compile financial information
  • Prepare and conduct audit plans; identify potential audit issues by considering impact and assessing related risks
  • Develop and implement solutions to mitigate deficiencies for internal control activities and prepare supporting documentation
  • Conduct audit activities including audit scoping and execution and SOX audits
  • Use appropriate data and analytical tools during the multiple phases of audit delivery
  • Identify and communicate accounting and auditing matters to partners and management
  • Perform other peripheral tasks as need/required

Qualifications/Background Profile:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or related field is required
  • CPA License is highly desired; eligible to sit is required
  • 3+ years of accounting and auditing experience in a public accounting environment; focused experience in the real estate industry
  • Proven expertise with financial statements and audit methodologies; ability to develop related deliverables
  • Strong Knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards, US GAAP, GAAS, PCAOB standards and FAR
  • Experience using Audit software tools such as AuditPro, GoSystems etc. is a plus
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office applications, importantly Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data; analyze and interpret complex reports
  • Prioritize workflow and manage multiple deadlines within required time constraints
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
