Responsibilities

  • Provide technical authoritative guidance for ongoing operations of the activities necessary to develop, implement, and maintain quality measures.
  • Direct and plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
  • Serve as an advisor to the Center/Group Director and executives of various CMS components in the preparation of short, intermediate, and long- range plans for the improvement of CMS programs.
  • Develop and direct a strategy that maintains legislative integrity and meets CMS program priorities for the Agency.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses of program activities to evaluate the appropriateness, cost, effectiveness, and other impact resulting from the implementation of laws, regulations, policies and operational procedures and/or systems.

In order to qualify for the GS-15, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: (1) Supervising or leading the development and maintenance of healthcare quality measures; (2) Coordinating healthcare quality measurement issues with stakeholders, public groups, or private sector groups; and (3) Supervising or leading work performed by subordinate staff.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
