Summary

The purpose of the position is to serve as a project manager within OFAC with duties dealing with project and/or program management responsibilities related to OFAC's mission and programs. The will serve as a project management expert with the goal of increasing OFAC's organizational performance, efficiency, and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

As a Project Manager, you will:

- Plan, assign, direct, and review the work of employees and contractors assigned to their project(s). Independently or as a group leader, exercise project management responsibility for complex engagements and studies related to analyzing and improving Treasury-wide level programs and processes, including but not limited to business processes, program/policy processes, and/or systems processes in light of long- and short-range organizational goals. Engagements include understanding requirements, current processes, risk management, communications planning, data and root cause analysis, and potential implementation of prototype processes. Engagements will sometimes include the expansion of program/process improvements to similar or related areas of application.
- Participate actively as a key advisor to one or several Departmental officials in evaluating management efficiency and effectiveness in the direction of significant operating programs and in planning and implementing new and or improved methods of operation and management control.
- Research and investigate new or improved business and management practices for application to agency programs or operations.
- Develop potential solutions through coordination with affected organizations and officials at all levels throughout the Department.
- Design, develop, and coordinate approval of policy documents, procedures, and other guidance.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience for the GS-15: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
  • Providing assistance to managers or directors on issues such as problems with and or deficiencies in current operations; AND
  • Working on a team that applies concepts, practices, and methodologies to manage project plans reflecting experience in areas such as planning, scheduling, budgeting, estimating, cost analysis/control, tracking, reporting or forecasting; AND
  • Assisting in developing and/or providing input in an organization's strategic plan, workforce plan, project management plans, and/or employee development plans; AND
  • Working on projects or performing studies that are related to long-range planning and performance improvement. These projects or studies may be in areas such as planning, scheduling, budgeting, estimating, cost analysis/control, tracking, reporting and/or forecasting.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
