The Senior Telecom Engineer role supports a broad range of performing the primary administration and support for an Enterprise class Avaya phone systems consisting of Communication Manager (CM) v7.0, Avaya Aura Messaging (AAM) v7.0, Avaya Session Border Controller (SBC), Avaya System/Session Manager v7.0, Avaya AES v7.0, TASKE Call Center Metrics system Digital, Analog and VOIP desk phones, Avaya one-X Communicator and Avaya one-X Agent softphones in a 24x7 healthcare setting . This position works closely with infrastructure platform and application vendors to ensure systems are secure, reliable, and efficient. This role primarily performs as the 3rd tier operational support in Service Operation processes for all telecommunications processes and escalate to support vendors as needed.

Work Schedule:
  • Operational Support: Perform service operational tasks including but not limited to fulfilling support requests, resolving incidents, providing access, evaluating events, and managing problems; Responsible for day to day adds, moves, changes, and user troubleshooting. Manages and directs technician workload; Responsible for ACD configuration and ongoing support of Call Centers. Assist in establishing call trees, recording announcements and providing user training; Resolving issues with the Avaya systems on site. Administration, configuration, and support of hardware systems, including circuits/trunks, carrier/vendor/business partner relationships and case tracking, Core Switch (PBX), servers, media gateways, etc.; Monitors, review, recommend, test, and implement new software revision/feature sets/patch evaluation and trade studies, periodic system refresh; Perform necessary routine recurring tasks associated with the daily maintenance and support of the infrastructure platform and application portfolio.; Provide enterprise telecommunications platform support in the timely resolution of technology incidents while adhering to SLA prioritization and success measures - including 24x7 on call support; Investigate enterprise telecommunications platform interoperability issues and develop risk mitigation plans for existing and new applications; Work with end users and other support staff to configure, troubleshoot and maintain all layers of enterprise telecommunications platform; Documents operational and support procedures to ensure the overall integrity of enterprise telecommunications platform.
  • Implementation and Transition: Follow PMBOK best practices in the implementation and transition of enterprise telecommunications implementations; Participate in the creation of detailed work breakdown structures for the implementation of telecommunications upgrades and implementations; Support PMBOK best practices in tasks execution and system implementations; Facilitate conversations across AHC employees and vendors and other support teams while implementing or upgrading enterprise telecommunications platforms; Follow change and release management processes
  • Planning and Design: Follow PMBOK and ITIL principles in the planning and design of enterprise telecommunications platform implementations; Assist with requirements data gathering and analysis as needed; Assist with the development of technical reference architectures that illustrate the entire topology of a system or service including communication requirements and system dependencies; Review infrastructure platform and application changes for the environment and provide input on the technical impact of the changes; Participate in efforts to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization
  • Strategy: Schedule and participate in reviewing vendor solutions to address workflow requirements of the business and clinical departments; Provide expertise to identify and translate business workflow into infrastructure platform and application configuration requirements.
