Integrated Communications and Marketing (ICM) is a multimedia, service-focused communications and marketing operation that leads in shaping the impression of AARP by providing communications planning, marketing, support and execution for AARP's strategic business units.
Summary

The Executive Producer (EP) leads the editorial and creative direction for AARP Studios' editorial unit and supervises department's producers. Under the direction of the AARP Studios VP, The EP will ensure all video and audio content produced and delivered by the team is engaging to a wide audience and consistently maintains the highest standards of editorial quality, creativity and accuracy for all platforms. The EP is an innovative, experienced leader of multimedia producers who has a proven track record of pitching, developing, and overseeing the production of an array of successful digital video and audio content, including short-form video journalism, documentaries, explainers, hosted content, profiles, educational pieces and podcasts, in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment. The EP should have experience creating for a variety of platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Excellence in writing and storytelling, an impeccable attention to detail, and a talent for giving direct, thoughtful, and actionable feedback are essential in this role. The EP is a key part of the AARP Studios leadership team and works closely with other AARP groups (including social media, AARP.org, AARP The Magazine, AARP Bulletin, and AARP's issue-area teams) to develop new collaborative content ideas and distribution strategies.
Responsibilities

NOTE: This position primarily focuses on daily short-form digital video content published across multiple online platforms. Extensive digital experience is required.

Key responsibilities for the Executive Producer include creating, negotiating and finalizing contract materials, tracking deliverables and schedule changes and liaising with various internal departments, but more specifically:
  • Managing multiple projects from development through delivery
  • Advising on overall production plan and managing the budget, schedule and program materials, supervising production cash flow, milestone payments and completion of cost reporting
  • Negotiating with equipment vendors and post facilities
  • Developing and managing internal timelines & schedules, work flow and reviewing contracted deliverables to insure timely delivery to the client
  • Maintaining consistent and productive communication with Executive Producers, Series Producers, Producers, Production team, Scheduling, and Post Management to ensure all relevant deliverables are completed and master delivery dates are met
  • Supervising Online output and post reviews as necessary to make sure all credits, lower thirds, graphics, blurs & any other network requirements are correct and adhered to
  • Providing daily project (s) oversight and supervision for production costs including hiring of staff and production crew by carefully negotiating down prices of various products and services.
Requirements

NOTE: This position primarily focuses on daily short-form digital video content published across multiple online platforms. Extensive digital experience is required.
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of (8) eight years of production experience working as a Unit Manager and/or Line Producer, Production Manager, on original productions for broadcast networks.
  • Working knowledge of production and post-production processes and logistics in addition to familiarity with broadcaster deliverables.
  • Highly proficient with Mac/ PCs/ using Excel, Microsoft Word and customized data entry software.
  • Quickly adapts to learning new technology, software and systems.
  • Detail oriented multi-tasker who is self-motivated, strong time management skills and go with the flow work ethic.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills are essential.
