Responsibilities

This position is located within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO). The primary purpose is to serve as a senior level analyst completing administrative work of a fiscal, financial management, accounting or budgetary nature within the Office of Financial Management (OFM). Typical assignments include:
  • Planning, organizing, conducting and maintaining business processes that contribute to management control over program operations;
  • Reviewing, analyzing, documenting, and reporting to management on positive trends, deficiencies and inconsistencies in financial data;
  • Interpreting and applying accounting principles and standards to the policies and procedures applicable to the program and providing financial reports, analysis, and recommendations to address financial management issues;
  • Planning and completing assignments and program activities involved with coordinating, organizing and implementing programs and/or projects; and
  • Managing procurement of products and services support necessary to the operations of the office.

  • Probationary Period: This is a full-time permanent position (Career/Career-Conditional appointment). Upon appointment to this position, you may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.


Qualifications

You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
  • Implementing best business practices and linking strategic planning, budgeting, and financial performance reporting;
  • Preparing findings, recommendations, and reports in order to resolve issues and recommend courses of action;
  • Providing advisory services on various financial matters; and
  • Performing a variety of administrative and management services necessary to the operations of the office
