Responsibilities

  • Serves as the Product Support Manager (PSM) for the assigned acquisition program reporting directly to the Program Executive Officer, Program Manager, or Product Manager.
  • Performs an in-depth analysis of budget requests, considers unforeseen factors in development and production, shifts in project direction and emphasis and/or requests not included in planned programs and explores alternative sources of funding.
  • Plans, organizes, and directs the product support operations of the functional unit.
  • Oversees cost estimating, planning, programming, budgeting, program integration, interoperability, product support integrators and product support providers, and oversight of the product support function.
  • Conducts appropriate cost analyses to validate the product support strategy, including cost-benefit analyses as outlined in Office of Management and Budget Circular A-94.
  • Establishes the organizational structure; delegates authority and responsibility; adapts departmental policies, goals, and objectives and establishes methods of operation; establishes long range (5-10 years), intermediate and short range plans.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Experience Required:
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience at the at NH-03 (GS-13 or equivalent) level in the Federal Service that includes the ability to: 1. Plan, organize, and direct the product support operations of the functional unit; 2. Establish organizational structure; delegate authority and responsibility; 3. Adapt departmental policies, goals, and objectives to establish methods of operation; 4. Establish long range (5-10 years), intermediate and short range plans to allocate resources (within broad limitations established by higher authority); and 5. Develop appropriate performance metrics for product support arrangements and product support.

Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Career Field Position. This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level III in Acquisition Career Field (L) LIFE CYCLE LOGISTICS within 24 months of entrance on duty.

This position may be eligible for regular and recurring TELEWORK, including emergency and OPM prescribed unscheduled Telework. Supervisor approval will be required on a case-by-case basis.
