Summary:

The Communications Specialist provides consulting services to U.S. Government leaders in support of their marketing, strategic planning and communications initiatives, from development to implementation of strategies, initiatives, and communication engagements. The Communications Specialist shall support initiatives to facilitate and coordinate integration and collaboration among key stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide corporate communications, marketing, and process engineering consultation support to include communications/marketing strategy development, content development, improvement and documentation of internal governance processes, and presentations.
  • Plan, develop, and oversee the creation and execution of various strategic communications deliverables.
  • Draft tailored messages for an array of audiences including internal stakeholders, external partners, government leadership, and current and future workforce.
  • Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts and key stakeholders to draft and finalize briefings, white papers, talking points, articles, reports, marketing content, and other materials.
  • Develop innovative ideas to communicate initiatives for workforce development.
  • Coordinate and facilitate team(s) discovery sessions and information sharing activities.
  • Advise clients, make recommendations, and provide strategic guidance to support development of marketing solutions.
  • Facilitate interaction between internal stakeholders and external partners in government, academia, and industry to identify opportunities for collaboration and sharing.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience or Master's degree and 3 years of related experience.
  • Active TS/SCI w/ Full Scope Polygraph Clearance required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Skilled in strategic communications and marketing plan development, marketing campaign management, team and stakeholder engagement facilitation, audience analysis and segmentation, intelligence analysis and reporting, and project planning and management.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at once.
  • Excellent customer communications and account management skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to operate under limited direction.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent research skills.

  • The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
  • During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
