The IT Network Infrastructure Manager is a full-time position and operates as a member of the Network Infrastructure Team within the IT Infrastructure group. The position\u2019s role is to lead efforts related to the installation, deployment, administration, optimization and support of the organization\u2019s WAN and LAN networks. This includes ensuring the availability of networking infrastructure, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the network environment. Where applicable, the IT Network Infrastructure Manager will assist in overseeing the physical security, integrity, and safety of the network infrastructure.


Strategy & Planning
  • Assist IT Management in developing strategies and plans related to physical and software defined networking technologies that support the strategic goals of the organization
  • Lead design efforts, and formulate implementation plans, for next generation network technologies
  • Work collaboratively with other IT Infrastructure Teams, IT Divisions and Business Units to ensure the availability, reliability, security and scalability of the LAN/WAN environments
  • Serve on project teams for new branch openings or renovations of corporate office spaces. Formulate plans to deliver project requirements on-schedule and minimize impact to business unit production
  • Utilize a Continual Service Improvement model to gauge effectiveness and efficiency of existing network infrastructure and make recommendations for improving or further leveraging these systems
  • Develop business/budgetary plans to replace or upgrade network hardware on a four year refresh cycle and/or prior to EOL (End-of-Life)

Acquisition & Deployment
  • Adhere to existing internal procurement and asset management policies
  • Work directly with vendors and contractors on pre-sales engineering efforts
  • Procure, configure and deploy networking components in accordance with established procedures and security requirements to meet business needs
  • Perform cost-benefit and/or return on investment analyses for proposed changes to the network infrastructure and present deployment recommendations to senior management
  • Configure and deploy network infrastructure to support business needs and processes across the enterprise

Operational Management
  • Serve internal and external members by demonstrating technical leadership throughout the organization by delivery IT Solutions in a timely and effective manner
  • Administer and support the network infrastructure needs to ensuring connectivity of the organization\u2019s branch/office locations and 600+ employees
  • Manage all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches and wireless access points
  • Manage telecommunications equipment, protocols and routing queues necessary to meet business needs
  • Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery objectives
  • Complete Problem Management and Request Fulfillment processes in accordance to Service Level Agreements
  • Adhere to Asset Management policies and assist Information Security in monthly reconciliation efforts
  • Assist IT Infrastructure Management in tracking expenditures and ensuring costs stay within budgetary limits
  • Perform network device inventory, software and security audits, and recovery processes in accordance with the company\u2019s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for network connectivity and access issues

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Develop goals and objectives for Network Engineers/Administrators within the team via periodic coaching sessions, supervise the team members and provide regular feedback
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and Talent Development Plans for Network Administrators within the team
  • Provide guidance, training and mentoring for new IT Network Infrastructure staff
  • Perform skills gap analyses of current staff and develop plans to address any identified gaps
  • Administer time management of team including reviews and approval of time sheets, processing of PTO requests, and ensuring appropriate coverage for Network Infrastructure
  • Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)


  • Bachelor's degree in the field of Computer Science or related field or comparable experience
  • Minimum 7 years demonstrated expertise, configuring, managing, and maintaining both hardware and software defined network infrastructure in an enterprise environment
  • Minimum 3 years demonstrated expertise, configuring, managing, and maintaining network infrastructure to support Cisco Voice and Collaboration solutions.
  • Expertise in standard networking (physical and wireless) technologies and protocols such as DHCP, DNS, and TCP/IP
  • Expertise in endpoint protection solutions and knowledge of standard IT Security practices
  • Knowledge of VMware virtualization, Unified Communications, Linux and/or open sources technologies
  • Experience leading technical teams
  • Certifications:
    • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Routing & Switching and/or CCNP Data Center required
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security preferred
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Voice and/or Collaboration preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance for access to government facilities
