Responsibilities

As an administrative officer, the incumbent will provide administrative and management support services in areas such as but are not limited to: personnel management; budgeting and funds management; management analysis; procurement and contracting activities; data and information services; property/space management and coordination; and records management.
Typical work assignments include:
  • Maintaining HR-related data and files on employees in the assigned office, and tracking time and attendance, and travel.
  • Maintaining accounts and databases of the office's commitments, obligations, and expenditures.
  • Managing telecommunication equipment and services requirements.
  • Managing, monitoring and tracking the procurement of equipment, furniture, materials,supplies, and services needed to support operations of the office(s). Maintains an inventory control system of all equipment and resources within assigned office.
  • Oversees office moves, including assisting with and approving the development of office layouts based on staffing and operational approaches/needs.

Qualifications

You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience at this level includes:
1) Performing administrative support functions to include serving as a timekeeper in WebTA and examining travel documents in the Concur Travel Management System using Federal Travel Regulations;
2) researching and analyzing appropriate regulations, guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to perform administrative support functions;
3) procuring supplies and equipment through a Government Purchase Card; AND
4) solving administrative procedural problems and providing authoritative resolution/information.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade level or equivalent grade band in the federal service. The time-in-grade requirement must be met by the closing date 11/02/2020of this announcement.
