Summary

About the Position: This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

The pay band NH-03 includes the General Schedule grade equivalent to GS-12/13. Other initiatives under the Acquisition Demonstration Project include simplified classification, streamlined hiring process and expanded developmental opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the resolution of supply pipeline problems affecting repair capabilities at National Maintenance Management Sources of repair.
  • Monitor transactions that affect capability to support materiel management and maintenance efforts within the installation.
  • Assesses maintenance problems, trends, and requirements; advises on decision/action required.
  • Reviews various daily, weekly, and monthly reports produced for asset management and zero balances.
  • Conducts studies and provides comments and recommendations; assists in devising methods and/or procedures that result in improvements and more efficient and economical operations.
  • Reviews supply, financial, and maintenance regulations, and policies and directives concerning the requisition, obligation authority, issue, repair, and storage and shipment of materiel.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: (1) Developing life cycle logistics support initiatives to lower overall life cycle systems cost. (2) Creating initiatives to include schedule of work, cost and payment schedule in support of a logistical program. (3) Creating logistics plans of product support strategies to meet organizational acquisition needs and requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-02.

Education can NOT be substituted for experience.
